BALTIMORE, Md. — Duke sophomore long-stick midfielder C.J. Costabile had had enough.
The lowest-scoring title game in NCAA Lacrosse Division 1 Championship history was filled with long and frustrating possessions for both sides. But in overtime, Costabile single-handedly won the first faceoff of overtime, sprinted away from two Irish jerseys straight into the box, and fired high to beat Notre Dame goalkeeper Scott Rodgers. He covered the 35 or so yards in five seconds flat and won the 2010 title for Duke (16-4) in the process.
